Fire Escape Kit
Contrary to what many people think, 60-80% of deaths relating to a fire are actually due to smoke inhalation. If you are in an office, and have to take the stairwells, you will be exposed to heavy smoke. Without a special mask to block out the inhalants, chances of survival are incredibly low, even if fire is not in your immediate path. After removing the mask from foil bag, the user has approximately 20 to 30 minutes of breathing time while evacuating from a smoke filled area.
This is a one-time use product and should be disposed of after use.
The revolutionary Xcaper moist filter delivers unparalleled protection by absorbing hazardous toxins including Carbon Monoxide and nearly 100% of particulate matter common to smoke from fires due to a state of the art, moist filtering agent (gel) that absorbs water soluble (anhydrite) gases and smoke particulates common to wildland fires as well as those found in structural overhaul situations.
The moisturizing agent, a 100% all natural plant extract allows for easy breathing.

The Xcaper Smoke Mask will capture smoke, dust, airborne fiber and other particulate matter as miniscule as 3/10ths of a micron (a strand of hair is about 10 microns). It will also filter carbon monoxide, acrolein, hydrogen cyanide, nitrogen dioxide and nitrogen monoxide, and water-soluble gases known as anhydrites. The Xcaper smoke mask has also been field tested against petrochemical fumes and it worked well.
For use in:
This filter system should never be used in fighting a structure fire or in place of an SCBA. The Xcaper filter will filter carbon monoxide.
The Xcaper Emergency Masks and filter are essential in a variety of applications and situations.
Whether you are at home, campus, office, or are travelling, having the right tools for survival are essential. Having a plan, detectors, and alarms are an excellent idea, but still are not enough to guarentee that you are not at risk to a deadly dose of toxic inhalants from a fire, especially one below you in a structure.
The mask is thin and light and for what it can do, is a great addition for any traveller's luggage or bags.
