Ash spewing from a volcano in Indonesia has forced the cancellation of several flights to and from the island of Bali. Mount Bromo, which is in eastern Java, began erupting late last year. On Thursday the ash cloud forced flights from Australia and Hong Kong to turn around. Other international airlines also cancelled flights. But domestic flights were going ahead, as Indonesian officials said they were monitoring the situation. Transport Ministry spokesman Bambang Ervan said airlines had been sent an advisory warning that the ash had reached heights of 18,000 ft (5,500m) southeast of the volcano
